So Long......

It has been so long since my last post i have had friends ask me if i had just given up! We are alive and well,and NO i haven't given up yet! we had a great Halloween. Elsie dressed up as a girl version of Frankenstien, Scott was some kind of gangster black eyed pea, and i was the typical 80's work out chick. when i upload these pictures i will post them but for now just use your imagination!
We spent Thanksgiving in Arizona with Scott's family and it was wonderful. It was the perfect 82 degrees everyday which made it really hard to come back to winter. We also had our family pictures taken by the fabulous Jen, i think they turned out perfect. She is amazing! Well hopefully i will post a little more regularly from now on(or maybe not... maybe i will continue to only post when i have Jen take our pictures:). love you all and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I don't know why it is saying it is April... i am pretty sure today is June 2, 2009!

I know i Know.. i have been absent for awhile! I just have a real hard time staying inside on the computer when the weather is so wonderful. So here are a few things we have been up to lately...

I have been anxiously waiting for Elsie's hair to be long enough for pony tails... or as Scott would call it "spouts." Well the time has arrived, her hair is finally long enough for pony's and i think it is pretty dang cute!

Scott, Elsie and I have been going on a lot of bike rides...
I had a wonderful Mothers Day!!

Scott's mom took us to The Grand America for tea for Mothers Day.

Elsie took her first dip in the pool!!
And most importantly Elsie turned 1!!!

March 1, 2006 was the best day of my life, i was married to my very best friend Scott. We celebrated our 3 year anniversary on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. The day started off kinda usual i had to work until 5 and Scott and Elsie were having their weekly "daddy daughter day". Scott came to the salon at the end of the day and got his hair cut, then we were off on a surprise date. Scott planned for my mom to watch Elsie over night so we could have a night on the town. Scott got reservations at the Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake, and we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill. I was so surprised and nervous to leave Elsie over night. It was so nice to be able to have a night out on the town with just the two of us. I really am so lucky to have Scott as a husband, he really is my best friend.

So Tired

There is just nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby...

Our little Elsie is such a great sleeper... SERIOUSLY she sleeps more than she is awake. Scott thinks she might be lazy, i just think she has too many of her moms genes! Her usual routine is in bed by 8:30 sleeps until 9:00 the next morning, then she goes down for her morning nap around 10:30 and sleeps until 12:30 and then back down and 3:00 until 5ish... i am know i am really lucky, and most 8 month old babies do not sleep like this but it just makes me think.... my next one (not any time soon) is going to make me pay!

We have been so busy with the Holidays i have not even thought about this blog for a while... So i am going to give a little "Recap" on what has been going on....

November 25

Scott's Birthday was November 25, he turned 27 this year. For his big day we went on our first date since Elsie has been born and it was really fun to be able to talk and relax with just the 2 of us! For his Birthday i surprised him with Celine Dion tickets... I know what you are thinking Celine... REALLY! Well Yes really... Scott LOVES her, so i thought it would be fun to go see her for her last tour... Well Celine had a sore throat and postponed her concert until Febuary so i will post on that when we finally get to go! All and all it was a great Birthday and i keep reminding him he is getting closer and closer to 30.... HA HA!
I am really lucky to have Scott in my life he is the most patient and loving person i have ever met. Scott i love you and hope you are excited to shake it at Celine!!!

November 27 Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was spent with my family, We went to my Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Mac's for a fabulous meal, then we spent the rest of the day relaxing and putting up Christmas decor...

Christmas....

We had a wonderful Christmas filled with sleepovers, toys, and exhausted babies! On Christmas Eve we spent the night at my parents and had Christmas morning with them. Then we rushed over to Grandma Dixie's for a great Christmas brunch, from there we were on our way to Scott's sister Megan's where we had a wonderful Christmas dinner. When it was time to go home for the night we realized that it had been snowing really hard and the roads had not been plowed! After a really good atempt we ended up back at Megan's for a big snowed in sleepover! All and all we had a great Christmas filled with family, good food, and of course too many presents to count!

This year we went to dinner with Scott's friend John, after that we went to our friends the Erickson's to play games and bring in the New Year..
We had such a great holiday season and are so thankful for all we have. Lets make this year the best one yet!!

6 Months.... Where does the time go?

Elsie turned 6 months on November 20th. I can't believe 6 months has already come and gone! She is such a blessing in our lives and i couldn't imagine life without her. Elsie has quite the personality, she knows whats she wants and how to get it, thats for sure! If i am not playing her favorite song (Colbie Caillat "Realize") in the car she will cry until i turn it on! If I am on the phone or talking in the car she will cry until i turn up the song and stop talking! She will shake her bum when i tell her to "Dance Dance". She will pat her hands when i tell her to "Pat Pat". It is so fun to see her grow and develop i cant believe in another 6 months she will be walking and talking!

On Wednesday i was bored and decided to take some pictures of Elsie, I know they are not professional by any means, but i thought they turned out sweet. Here are some of my favorites from the 105 pictures i took!!!

Here Come the Penguins....

I know Halloween was a while ago.. but i thought i would share some pictures of the Penguins.. Scott loves Halloween, every year around September 1st he starts stressing about what we are going to be! Last year he decided he would be a bear and i would be a witch... well this year he decided we had to have a theme because we now have Elsie, so with much deliberation he decided i could choose between Adam and Eve which consisted of a flesh colored body suit and leaves in certain places,and Elsie could be the Fruit... Or we could be Penguins. I know HARD decision but i decided my post pregnant body wasn't quite ready for the body suit so i went with the penguins. We asked my mom to make the costumes and they turned out really cute!

So introducing the Stowell Family Penguins....
At our trunk or treat Scott made our car into a "ice cave" complete with a strobe light and fog machine!

I know my shoes are rockin... i seriously wore these at one point in my life and could never give them up!
Notice Elsie's costume is pink instead of white.... i wasn't joking, i make sure people know she is a girl!

6 Quirky Quirks (Tag by Ashley)

1- I will admit i am a little obsessive about having a clean house... so obsessive that i can't sleep in a messy house so i will stay up all night just to get it cleaned so i can go to bed! (The other problem with this quirk is even after i spend all day cleaning i never feel like it is clean enough... i know i probably need therapy!)

2- I have a hard time holding still while i eat... When i am at home i dance around the kitchen while i eat (it usually drives who ever is with me crazy!), and when i am in public i find myself rocking in the chair or taping my feet... WEIRD I KNOW!

3- Because of my job i find myself "judging" people in public... like what their hair looks like and what they are wearing! I know it is so rude to stare but seriously i cant help it!

4- (this goes along with #3) While i am "judging" i cant help but tell whoever i am with what i am looking at and what i think about it... This drives my husband so crazy! He is constantly telling me "Reen i know what you are thinking you don't have to say it out loud!"

5- I get really offended if people think Elsie is a boy! The other day i was at the store and a lady said to me "oh HE is so cute!" I said without thinking "you mean SHE, yes she is cute! thank you!" I mean seriously she has on a bow and is in a pink blanket!!!

6- I hate not having my feet properly manicured! I wont go to someones house if i know i have to take off my shoes and my toes don't look cute.. or i will bring some socks.. i know so weird but i am so self conscious about my feet.

Ok so now i look like a total basket case so who is next...

A few weeks ago we were able to go to California for a wedding and to see Scott's parents. It was quite an adventure- it was our first experience traveling with a baby (wow who knew a baby would need so much stuff)! I was a little nervous to see how Elsie would do on the plane and sleeping in a new bed.... well she did amazing! We had so much fun seeing some of Scott's friends from high school and being able to spend time with his family! Here are a few (well a lot) of pictures from our trip!

So i am a little jealous, every night i get up at 5 AM to feed little Elsie... Then i play with her all day and do whatever- whenever she wants... pretty much she OWNS me! Then as soon as Scott gets home she becomes a complete DADDY'S girl and wants nothing to do with me... what the HELL! On a lighter note... isn't this picture cute of Scott and Elsie! It is so fun to see what an amazing dad Scott has become and how pure Elsie's love for him is! I really am lucky!!!

"Mom Car"

When i was 18 and getting ready to move down to Provo to start my schooling at The Paul Mitchell School I had a sick realization that i would be driving my old beat up van. Gross how could i possibly get a date driving that old rusted thing... Two weeks before moving, my dad had a great idea of waxing the old van. I tried to get out of it by telling him if we waxed it all the paint that was left would rub off. He insisted so i followed him outside................ and there it was my DREAM car! I thought i had died and gone to heaven. I jumped up and down for probably an hour telling my dad if this was a trick i would never speak to him again!- Notice the van in the background... Yeah Baby!

But then I got married, pregnant and in desperate need of a 4 door car! Yes it is true i now offically own my first "mom car"! Sadly i had to give up the bug for a car that would fit me, the car seat, stroller, diaper bag, and sometimes Scott! Now don"t get your hopes up i didnt move to the mini van just yet, i just moved to 4 doors. The bug now has a new owner named Gina (my 16 year old sister). Well i am still the owner at heart she just gets to drive it. The bug was my DREAM car so giving it up was kinda hard (don't judge!) but, i know it is in good hands and Gina will take care of it or she will have to answer to me!

So in the tradition of passing off the bug we decided to play a mean trick and tell Gina for an entire week that we had traded in the bug for the new passat. She was devastated i seriously thought she was going to break down when we told her the bad news. We continued this lie with my entire family until Tuesday when we pulled into my parents driveway with the bug and a HUGE red bow. I had so much fun watching her act like a nut just like i did. Wow i almost had just as much fun giving the car away as i did getting it 5 years ago.

P.S. I really love my new "mom" car and am so thankful for the 4 doors.

The Best 10 Weeks....

10 weeks ago, I was in the hospital anticipating what life would be like with a baby. I couldn't imagine how i would feel or what i would do when the doctor placed our precious daughter in my arms. I was amazed at the love i instantly had for her. I now know what true unconditional love feels like. It was so amazing when i looked in her eyes i knew i would do anything for her. Elsie has blessed our family in so many ways, and now we cant imagine our lives without her.

Elsie has so many people who love her!

I know i am her mom... but seriously she is BEAUTIFUL if i do say so myself!

Right now Elsie's favorite thing in life is the bath.

I Cant Believe I am a "Blogger"

I wil be the first to admit i have always made fun of people who "blog"! I thought it was so weird to post your life of the internet, and seriously believe other people would enjoy reading it! Then i found myself reading other peoples blogs and realized it is so fun to keep in touch this way.. so here i am! Hopefully this blog will help our family and friends keep in touch with us and our darling baby.
